Tatum Ranch Golf Club has been closed for overseeding since September 28 and reopens October 20, according to the Arizona Golf Association's 2026 overseeding schedule. Between now and the reopening, the Tatum Ranch HOA has bingo, a donation drive, an adults-only Halloween party and a kids' event on the books. The course then comes back on the Tuesday of the busiest week on the Cave Creek and Carefree calendar.
This fall, the neighborhood's social season runs on the HOA's schedule. The golf schedule has little to do with it. The dates below run from this week through mid-December, in order.
The Course and the HOA Keep Separate Calendars
Arcis Golf operates the club and describes a member social program with Tuesday mixers, weekly league play, member-guest tournaments, specialty dining nights and holiday celebrations. Its events page doesn't publish specific 2026 dates. The Tatum Ranch HOA events calendar does, and it keeps running whether the fairways are open or not.
Here is the HOA's schedule as currently posted:
| Date | Event | Time | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thu., Oct. 15 | Bingo | 5:30 to 9 p.m. | Tatum Ranch Community Room |
| Sat., Oct. 17 | Salvation Army Donation Drop-Off | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Tatum Ranch parking lot |
| Sat., Oct. 17 | Boo Bash, adults only | 5 to 8 p.m. | The Creek Patio Grill |
| Sat., Oct. 24 | Kids Halloween Spooktacular | 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Tatum Ranch Community Room |
| Thu., Nov. 5 | Bingo | 5:30 to 9 p.m. | Tatum Ranch Community Room |
| Sat., Nov. 7 | Breakfast Scramble | 9 to 10:15 a.m. | Tatum Ranch Community Room |
| Sat., Nov. 21 | Casino Night | 5 to 8 p.m. | The Creek Patio Grill |
| Sat., Dec. 12 | Kids Breakfast with Santa | Three time slots, 9 a.m. to noon | Tatum Ranch Community Room |
| Fri., Dec. 18 | Ugly Sweater Sippin Social | 5 to 7 p.m. | The Creek Patio Grill |
Six of the nine events fall in the 23 days from October 15 to November 7, and three of them land during the overseed closure. The community garage sale, which the HOA listed as sold out, already ran October 9 through 11.
October 17 Holds Two Events
Saturday the 17th is the fullest day on the fall calendar. In the morning, the Salvation Army will have a truck in the Tatum Ranch parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to take donations. The HOA says no RSVP is needed and links a list of accepted items from the event's detail page. If anything was left over from last weekend's garage sale, this is a chance to clear it out within a week.
That evening, the adults-only Boo Bash moves to The Creek Patio Grill from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10. The HOA's listing describes it this way:
"Join us for an adults-only Halloween night at Creek Patio Grill! Enjoy spooky cocktails, savory bites, music, and festive fun. Dress to impress in your favorite costume and celebrate with friends and neighbors for a night of spooky sophistication!"
Each event handles entry differently, and getting it wrong can mean being turned away at the door:
- Bingo, Oct. 15 and Nov. 5: $25 cash at the door. No advance registration, limited capacity, first come, first in. The HOA also notes it needs volunteers.
- Boo Bash, Oct. 17: Online registration only. The listing says no cash will be accepted at the door and seating is limited.
- Kids Halloween Spooktacular, Oct. 24: Drop in any time from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no registration, in costume, for candy, games, snacks and crafts.
- Breakfast Scramble, Nov. 7: $7, with kids under 10 free. Online registration only, no cash at the door.
So bingo is cash only, and the two events after it are online only. Anyone who shows up to the Boo Bash with cash and no registration won't get in.
The Room and the Patio
The HOA calendar splits between two venues. Family events and bingo are in the Tatum Ranch Community Room. Adult evenings, including the Boo Bash, Casino Night and the Ugly Sweater Sippin Social, are at The Creek Patio Grill.
The Creek calls itself a neighborhood spot for casual meals. Its lunch and dinner menu covers burgers, brick-oven pizza, steak, seafood and pasta. The house burger, The Creek, has three patties, bacon and three cheeses. There's also a two-patty burger listed simply as the "Fast Food." The bar menu runs a "Wine Down Wednesday" with half off select bottles.
The next Wednesday is October 14. That same evening, the Carefree/Cave Creek Chamber's Taste of Cave Creek comes to Stagecoach Village with more than 25 local restaurants and breweries and live music. On one weeknight, a neighbor can choose between a discounted bottle close to home and a sampler of 25-plus local kitchens a short drive away.
The Creek's own site doesn't post hours or say whether nonmembers can dine there. The safest plan is to call before going, especially during the overseed weeks.
A New Burger Spot on Cave Creek Road
The Creek has new burger competition nearby. In June, the Cave Creek Independent reported that Creekers, a New American burger-and-bar restaurant, planned to open in August at 6554 E. Cave Creek Road, Suite 14.
The timing shifted a bit from that forecast. A post mirrored from the restaurant's social accounts and dated August 27 announced a soft opening the next day and a grand opening September 7. A September 22 post said Creekers "now has CINNAMON ROLLS" and invited people to "Come into Creekers," so it was open by late September. Those are the restaurant's own announcements, not a news report, so it's worth checking current hours before driving over.
For Tatum Ranch, Creekers means a second burger-and-bar option within an easy drive, opened just before the cooler months, when patio dining gets comfortable again.
Reopening Week Is Also Festival Week
The course comes back Tuesday, October 20, the same week the area calendar fills up. Here is the week in order:
- Mon., Oct. 19. Carefree Restaurant Week begins and runs through October 25. Participating restaurants offer discounted menus, some with multi-course dinners.
- Tue., Oct. 20. Tatum Ranch Golf Club reopens after its overseed closure.
- Fri., Oct. 23, through Sun., Oct. 25. The 17th Annual Stagecoach Village Fine Art & Wine Festival runs at Stagecoach Village in Cave Creek. Admission and parking are free.
- Sat., Oct. 24. The HOA's Kids Halloween Spooktacular runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Community Room, on the middle day of the festival weekend.
A Tatum Ranch household could fit the kids' event, a festival afternoon and a Restaurant Week dinner into one Saturday, all within four days of the first tee time back on the course. The Spooktacular is a drop-in event from 10 to 1, which makes the rest of that Saturday easy to plan.
Other courses on the AGA list run on slightly different schedules. Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale reopens October 15, and Terravita Golf & Country Club only starts its closure on October 12 with a planned November 3 reopening. Tatum Ranch's window falls between them, which puts its reopening squarely inside the Cave Creek and Carefree festival week.
After Halloween, Events Spread Out
The pace slows after October. November has a second bingo night on the 5th, the Breakfast Scramble on the 7th and Casino Night at The Creek Patio Grill on the 21st. December has two events: Kids Breakfast with Santa in three morning slots on the 12th, and the Ugly Sweater Sippin Social at The Creek on the 18th. After November 7, three events remain across six weeks, and the fairways will be open again for all of them.
The HOA marks several listings with limited seating and has already closed registration on some, so the posted dates may fill before the day arrives. The HOA events page shows current registration status for each one.
